Good Morning World!

Today is a brand new beautiful day.  Is the sun out?  No.  Not exactly.  It’s not pouring down rain … AND today is the first day of school for my oldest!  That makes today simply beautiful.

My kids sleep pretty good.  It’s about time for them to wake, but before they do I had to capture a couple photos of them being precious – quiet – sleeping!!

My Blog! Oh I have missed you …

I have neglected my blog … and my journaling … for quite some time now and I miss them both … it’s time to get back into my swing of normalcy.

Summer has been wonderful – we’ve played outside as much as we can – we even had to take some breaks because it was too much! Smile with tongue out Our weather here in Alaska (South Central anyway) was so much nicer than last year.  Maybe not record breaking temperatures, but amazingly beautiful and fun.  What an amazing place we live in!!

A good friend of mine updated her blog recently (great to see you out here again Michelle!!  you can check out her blog and scrappy ideas at http://moonlightscrapper.blogspot.com), and thanks to Google Reader I saw her update.  Soon after reading, I felt the pang of emptiness that follows the neglect I’ve allowed to hover over my creativity.  Yea, pretty big stuff.

So here I am … updating and thinking of how I would like today to be.  Better than yesterday!  Although yesterday was a good day.  Today will be better because I’ll try even harder to slow down and smell the crisp fresh Alaskan air, camera in hand, and show my kids what it means to enjoy the simple things and the moments in life.

A story from Jarrett to start the day:

In my dream, I had some Legos and voila, voila – I turned it into chocolate and (chomp chomp chomp) I ate it!
That boy has story after story to share – he creates as he talks and shares moment by moment.  I am so blessed that he is my son.  Some moments I wonder how I’ll manage the next few minutes … and then there is a smile or twinkle in his eyes that remind me why I love him so much.  The little fact that he looks like his father doesn’t hurt … Red heart

“that make better” (I just heard this from Jarrett – he is describing that his idea is better than mine – he just rolls out with these things one after the other!)

Payton just woke up – Mom is visiting us and she just headed out the door – we’ll all take our showers, and get our day started soon.  But first, some photos of our weather …

This is what our morning looked like around 7 a.m.:
